Transformation Tuesday
When I first embraced organizing, I had no idea how much it would impact my life. Even when I stumbled across the KonMari method, I didn't feel like I had a ton of stuff to go through but thought I would try it out and see how much I could pare down.
I spent a few hours on the weekend going through just clothes, however, as you can see, my closet basically was exploding. I'm happy to report that I have maintained a much cleaner closet space, especially since I started building a seasonal capsule wardrobe.
I cannot tell you how good it feels to know where everything is in my closet. I can file away papers quickly (these usually piled up because I couldn't get to the filing bin) and I can see at a glance what I have to wear and my wardrobe is all things I LOVE. The process of editing my things has helped me better define my style which in turn has made me pause before shopping/accepting new things to add to my closet or home.
I had serious closet envy when searching Pinterest and reading Real Simple articles about closet makeovers. It felt so unattainable, mainly because I felt like I didn't have enough space to have a beautiful, clean closet. It's not about upgrading my space, it's about downsizing the items that don't mean anything to me anymore, that I don't feel comfortable wearing. By doing this, I created space I didn't have before.
